4 More Events to Look Forward To
Below are four REMOTE WELLNESS EVENTS TO MOTIVATE LIVING A FULL LIFE AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND COWORKERS. They are events that you can do at home or away and get you looking forward to each quarter.
January - Break a Record
On the second day of each year, break one of your own records. You must plan ahead, be creative and involve any dimension of wellness. Then, announce on social media that you will be breaking this record and why that is important to you. Use hashtag #RecordBreaking
EXAMPLE: This January 2, I will break my own record of walking an indoor 5k before the end of “Shine on You Crazy Diamond” by Pink Floyd. It reminds me of a friend I lost and reminds me to be amazing.
July - Visit New Water
On the Saturday closest to July 4 (America’s Independence Day), visit a new body of water that you have never experienced. Once you get there, the rest is up to you. Swim, boat, kayak, or try something new. The objective is to provide a freshness to all of your senses. #NewWater
EXAMPLE: Plan a trip to part of a river you have never experienced. Search some apps and read reviews then set off to a safe place to park. Unload your lawn chair and lunch. Enjoy the sights and sounds of water in nature.
March - Travel to Snow
Everyone may not be able to accomplish this one but it is definitely a bucket list item if you enjoy winter. Close to the first Saturday of March, see where the biggest snowstorm is going going to hit near you. Plan your trip and get there before the weather. #WinterStormChase
EXAMPLE: On Monday before the first Saturday in March, check the weather and plan a trip somewhere snow is about to hit. Get snowed in but don’t forget your reading material, good coffee and winter gear.
October - Sleep Outside
Depending which part of the world you are located, bundle (or not) accordingly. On the Saturday closest to mid-October (use your judgement with your college football schedule), sleep under the stars, in a tent or overhead shelter. The purpose is fresh air! #NightAir
EXAMPLE: This can be done in your backyard or porch. Check the temperatures and precipitation then pick your bundleage. Stay out however long you can handle but just think EVERYONE at a point in history HAD to do this.
